I was checking out your web site, www.ProvidianFinancialSucks.com... its funny, you seem to blame so much of this on Providian, however you neglect the fact that you were the one duped by a TV infomercial that started the whole mess. Trust me, there was no "conspiracy"  as you claim. All credit card companies had the same problems with abtronic. As an employee of one of Providan's competitors (don't ask me to tell you which one, because I value my job and like my employer), I can see that you are the one who does not understand  what  " I did not authorize these charges" means.  Credit card Issuers (all of them, not just Providian)  consider that phrase to mean you did not participate in the transaction, and/or you did not provide the merchant with your credit card number AT ALL. That is what unauthorized means. News flash bud, by giving abtronic your credit card number, YOU DID authorize them under federal regulation Z, VISA and MasterCard regulations to charge your account.   How can you blame Providian for not stopping the charges from ab tronic posting to your account when you were the one who gave the merchant your account number? If your dispute was that you were charged the wrong amount for a purchase made over the phone, then you have to return, (and provide proof that is was done) the merchandise to the merchant. This is just the way it is. You really expect to keep the money and the merchandise?

Be advised that credit card companies cannot just stop a charge from posting to an account. In case you haven't noticed, this is the 21st century. All charges are posted to accounts electronically and cannot be stopped from posting to an account once the cardmember has given out their account number. Providian offered to provide you with a new card and account number to stop any future charges from posting, but you would have none of that.
All  VISA and MasterCard issuers  have a limited amount of time to process "chargebacks"  and require specific information by VISA and MasterCard to process these chargebacks. All credit card companies must follow regulations set up by VISA and MasterCard.  One of these regulations is that the Issuers, must give the merchant an opportunity to supply a rebuttal to any Chargeback that is keyed. Why did you not respond to the merchant rebuttal? Why did you wait almost one year to escalate this issue? By not providing the correct information Providian needed in writing I.e.: purchase date, The date you informed the merchant to cancel all transactions, the date you returned the merchandise (by the way, you do have to return the merchandise if you want a credit) you limited Providian's ability to assist you. I did listen to your recorded conversations with Providian and is clear from the conversations and  from your website that you are a very rude, un cooperative, impatient person who just wants to be credited for any charge you call in about, no questions asked.  It doesn't work that way.

You are quick to berate the Providian employees, for their "ignorance and stupidity" but remember that your were the one who actually thought that the abtronic would work. Next time try sit-ups. You dispute is not fraud.  You did not cooperate with Providian. By Federal Law, Visa and MasterCard regulations YOU PARTICIPATED in the transactions.  As an employee of a major VISA card issuer (not Providian I might add.) I truly hope you are not one of our cardmembers. You would not be worth the aggravation. You are the one who sucks
